Kottayam: A video in Kerala ‘love jihad’ case has surfaced in which Hadiya can be seen pleading for help. “Get me out of here. Today or tomorrow, I am going to die,” the 24-year-old Hadiya can be seen saying in the video apparently recorded in August. “I am sure about this. My father is getting angry, I can make out. He pushes me, stamps at me,” she can be seen claiming further in the video.
The Kerala High Court had annulled her marriage to Shafin Jahan, 27 in May this year while ordering her to return to live with her parents in Kottayam. Since then, she has been living with her parents. The decision was based on the claim made by Hadiya’s father Ashokan KM that Jahan has links to terror-outfits and targeted Hadiya. Meanwhile, her father has refuted the charges leveled against him by Hadiya. She said, “There is no validity to her claims. Nothing has happened to her so far.” The video was released by social activist Rahul Eashwar on Thursday.
On the other hand, Hadiya’s husband has requested Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to intervene. In his petition, Shehin mentioned that Hadiya is going through severe human rights violation.
