New Delhi : Days after CBI apprehended Class 11 student of Ryan International School for allegedly killing seven-year-old Pradyuman Thakur, the Haryana police on Saturday admitted that lacuna took place on their part during the investigation into the murder case.
As per the reports of DNA Gurugram Police Commissioner Sandeep Khirwar called a meeting of the first investigating team of the case, which had declared bus conductor Ashok Kumar a paedophil (a person who is sexually attracted to children). Reportedly in the meeting the investigative officers admitted that they goof.
If reports are to be believed , the policemen confessed that they didn’t watch the closed circuit television (CCTV) footage carefully.The Initial eight seconds of the footage shows the now accused teenager calling Pradyuman to the washroom.The team members, however, remained silent on exactly how they made this grave error.
Slamming the cops, Khirwar sought an explanation for ‘botched-up’ investigations. He also demanded a complete inquiry report on the matter and the exact details of the police officers who analysed the CCTV footage. He further sought to know what circumstantial evidence led the team to declare conductor Ashok as the murderer.
Earlier on Wednesday, in a sensational twist to the murder case,CBI announced that it had apprehended a senior student of Ryan International School on Tuesday night in connection with the brutal killing was the creation of school bus conductor Ashok Kumar.
The CBI had said that there was no evidence against Kumar as yet. According to the agency, the Class 11 student, believed to be weak in his studies, allegedly slit Pradyuman Thakur’s throat to get the school to declare a holiday in order to defer a scheduled parent-teacher meeting and an examination.
