New Delhi: T10 Cricket League, 10-over-a-side tournament, is all set to kick off in Sharjah and the spectators of the league are sure to witness some slam-bang and thrilling matches. Batsmen won’t have the time to settle in such short format and they’ll be smashing the ball from the word go.
However, the shortage of time won’t be the only reason play big shots as the power-hitters who manage to score a century in 10 overs will be given an apartment in Dubai worth Rs 88 lakhs. Speaking to reporters, Ali Tumbi of Aqua Properties, who is one of the owners of the Maratha Arabians team, said: “Any batsman who can hit a century will get a studio apartment worth Dhs 500,000 in Dubai.”

When asked if it possible for a player to achieve the feat in 10 over matches, Tumbi said, “why not.” “I can’t speak for other teams, but from our team, Alex Hales, Virender Sehwag and even Kamran Akmal can achieve it. “Akmal has a 150 from 70 balls so if it comes down to 100 from 40 balls it is possible. T10 Cricket League is the franchise-based competition and the format of the league is same as Indian Premier League (IPL) format. The tournament which will be played in the UAE from December 14 to December 17, will see the participation of total six teams, namely Maratha Arabians, Pakhtoons, Bengal Tigers, Kerala Kings, Punjabi Legends and Colombo Lions. Apart from scores of current cricketers, the teams also feature some former players like India’s Virender Sehwag, former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi and former Sri Lankan captain Kumar Sangakkara.
