Air pollution levels in Mumbai were worse than in Delhi on Sunday. The pollutant measuring indicator-air quality index(AQI) for Mumbai was 244, while Delhi recorded 204 during the day, which further fell to 183 by evening. On March 13 this year, Mumbai had recorded an AQI of 321, while Delhi recorded 105.
Pune and Ahmedabad recorded ‘moderate’ air quality on Sunday. SAFAR predicted an AQI of 254 for Monday. Prior to this, Mumbai recorded an AQI of 240 on December 10 and 232 on November 29.
Researchers said there was nothing alarming about the pollutions levels in both the cities at this time of the year because of differing wind speeds in Mumbai and Delhi.
