Riyadh: Former world champion Viswanathan Anand defeated Magnus Carlsen , world number one in their ninth round match at the World Rapid Chess Championship in Riyadh. Anand won the match in 34 moves, remaining unbeaten in the competition with five wins and four draws from nine encounters. The former World No.1 lost his crown to Carlsen in 2013 and although he defeated the Norwegian in 2014, it would have been a great feeling to get one over him once more. Anand is currently sitting joint second in the table with 7.5 points. Anand is in a great position and would be hoping to make the maximum use of it with a win in Riyadh
