
Aanchal Thakur from Manali, 21-year-old girl brought India its First International Medal in Skiing on Tuesday, becoming the first Indian to win a medal at an international skiing event after bagging bronze at the Alpine Ejder 3200 Cup, organized by the International Ski Federation (FIS) ,at the Palandoken Ski Centre in Erzurum in Turkey. The Girl's father later showed concern over the lack of govt support towards the sport as the the equipments like skis, boots and bindings, poles, helmets, suits, goggles and gloves are the essentials which a proffession skiiere should have ,which costs around Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh. He also said that he wants to see his daughter and son representing the country in the 2018 Winter Olympics.
