Pinarayi Vijayan has promised to Sreejith and his mother that the government will take a positive stand in the high court to take over the case with the CBI. Sreejith and his mother visited the CM on Monday evening.
CM explained the steps taken by the government for the CBI investigation. The state government had sought CBI probe in July 2017. However, the central government rejected this demand.
Following this, the demand has been made again to the Central Government by state government. Chief Minister assured that if Sreejiv's relatives approached the High Court seeking a CBI probe, they would take a positive stand. The High Court stayed the government's proposals directed by the Police Complaint Authority.The government will take steps to avoid the stay. CM said that Advocate General has been given the direction in this regard.
In the discussion, Sreejith's mother Remani Primela complained to the chief minister that some of the accused are mocking her. Chief Minister has directed the state police chief to take this matter seriously.The state government has done a great deal in the case of Sreejiv's custodial death case. CM said that the government is in the same situation as the family that is suffering from this problem.
