NewDelhi: Badminton Association of India's (BAI) inaugural Lifetime Achievement award is awarded to Former world number one badminton player Prakash Padukone. The 62-year-old was conferred with the award in the presence of his family, including his daughter and actress Deepika Padukone, and several top badminton players from India and abroad.
Prakash Padukone after receiving the award said that more talent needs to be tapped especially in small towns and cities. He added that talent must be given support otherwise it will die. He concluded the event by saying that he was accepting the award on behalf of all fellow players of his generation.
