Kanam rajendran re-elected as CPI State Secretary

Malappuram: Kanam Rajendran was re- elected as the state secretary of the Communist Party of India (CPI) for a second term on Sunday. Kanam’s name was proposed by CPI general secretary Sudhakar Reddy. Kanam was elected unopposed. Earlier, K.E Ismail faction had asked C Divakaran to contest for the post of Secretary. However,Divakaran took the stand that party unity is more important. The Strength of members in the state council have been increased from 89 to 96.
