The Kannur town police arrested a 32-year-old man for allegedly issuing a death threat over the phone to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The accused is identified as Vijesh, who claims to a hardcore RSS worker. According to police officials, Vijesh made a call to the CPI (M) district office in Kannur on Sunday and allegedly issued a death threat against the CM.Police officials also said that Vijesh allegedly made the death threat in the excitement of learning about BJP’s sweeping victory in Tripura. The police were on a lookout for him since Sunday and nabbed him on Monday evening at Kasaragod railway station. The police have registered a case against Vijesh under IPC Section 506 (1) (criminal intimidation) and under IT Act.
