New Delhi : Amid raging debates over the DMRC’s withdrawal from two Light Metro projects in the state, Finance Minister Thomas Issac said the government do not wish to incur liability and would scrutinize the projects before executing them.
Such huge projects generate additional liability for the state government. Such projects need closer look and study. A decision can be taken only after that , Issac said on Saturday.
Even the court had observed in the past that many projects are executed in the state without enough scrutiny , he said, adding that the government can go ahead with only after close examination.
The Light Metro projects are under the consideration of the Union Government. The state cannot kick start the projects expecting a favourable nod from the Centre, Issac told media persons here.
