Kannur : A students Federation of India (SFI) was stabbed at Taliparambu in the wee hours of today. SFI leader NV Kiran sustained stab injuries on his leg and chest in the attack. A gang attacked Kiran and those accompanying him when they were returning after participating in the Thrichambaram temple festival. Kiran and others were attacked around 3 am when they were near the RSS office. Kiran, who sustained serious injuries, has been admitted to the Pariyaram Medical College. It is learnt that an emergency operation was performed on Kiran. According reports, a gang of 15 persons were involved in the attack.
The CPM alleged that BJP- RSS activists were behind the attack. They also alleged that policemen, who were in the vicinity, failed in thwarting the attack.
