India, France pledge to build world's largest nuclear plant

PM Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron on Monday pledged to begin work on "the largest nuclear power plant in the world" in India by this year. Urging Electricite de France SA and India's Nuclear Power Corporation to accelerate discussions on a contract and start work at Maharashtra's Jaitapur, the leaders said the plant would have a 9.6-gigawatt capacity.
