Retirement age of KSRTC employees; wont increase now: CM Pinarayi VIjayan

Thiruvananthapuram : The pension age of KSRTC employees wont be increased, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan informed in assembly  today.

He was replying to a notice of adjournment moved by the opposition. “We haven’t yet arrived  at a decision regarding this. But, we would think about it. We are unable to pay salary and pension Right now”, he said.

V T Balram M L A moved the notice for adjournment motion, saying that the LDF government, under the guise of raising retirement age of KSRTC staff is trying to increase the pension age limit of employees belonging to other departments too.

Opposition  leader Ramesh Chennithala too accused the government in this matter.  “ A secret move is underway to make the retirement age 60", he alleged in a press conference at the assembly’s media hall.
