Gold Seized from Trivandrum International Airport

Thiruvananthapuram : The Trivandrum International Airport’s very own Air intelligence unit has apprehended two passengers in their smuggling gold attempt. The seizure took place around 3.30 am where they were caught by the metal detector and found gold biscuits from the socks of the two passengers. There were 17 gold biscuits weighing 1.93 kg and around Rs 60 lakh INR. One man had  9 biscuits concealed while the other had 8 biscuits. The passengers landed from Muscat in Jet Airways and upon interrogation revealed they were just carriers.
