Thiruvananthapuram : Some of the KSRTC pensioners conned the cooperative banks received double pension. They opened account in more than one cooperative banks and received the dues by producing the pension documents.
There are 30,090 pensioners in the state. Among them, malpractices have occurred in about 500 accounts, as per the primary information. The pensioners were also allowed to open accounts in convenient. It was decided to provide the pension dues till February to those who produce documents.
The pensioners were also allowed to open accounts in convenient branches. The cooperative banks granted pension to all who opened accounts.But they failed to check whether the pensioners have received the dues from the other branches. The mal practices came to light only when the amount distributed by various banks and the total pension dues were found to have a difference. The pension due for March is delaying, because the extra amount has to be recovered from the persons and the chances of malpractices has to be prevented. Though the Cooperative Consortium Lead Bank has Rs 60 crore which is required to distribute the pension. But the KSRTC has not yet given the new pensioner’s list. If the pension is distributed as per the current list, malpractices are likely to be continued.
