Thiruvananthapuram : The Meteorological Centre has informed that the summer rain will strengthen in state from this month 14th onwards. Thunderstorm is likely to hit the state for some days. Summer rain is pouring down in some parts of the state now.
When the rain strengthens, the intense heat will decrease. The wind direction and speed keep changing in favour of the rain. Depresssion also is likely to form. If the rains pours down as expected, the threat of drought will reduce. Presently, the highest temperature was recorded in Kozhikode district. From March 1 onwards, there was an increase of about 2 degree celcius more than the average temperature, Meteorological Centre director S.Santhosh Said.
From March 1 to until now, kerala has received 17 percent more summer rain. 65 mm rain was received in place of the expected 55.6 mm.
