A county in southwest China’s Sichuan province has banned Tibetan monks “wrongly educated” in India from teaching Buddhism to prevent the spread of separatist ideas. The move is aimed at preventing the spread of "separatist" activities as monks received education from groups associated with the Dalai Lama, whom China considers a separatist. It came in response to "severe separatist situation" in China, the state media added.Beijing considers the Dalai Lama a secessionist engaged in anti-China activities to secure Tibetan independence, a charge he denies. The spiritual leader says he only seeks autonomy for Tibet.
