Shashank Manohar to serve second term as ICC chairman

Former BCCI president Shashank Manohar will expectedly serve a second term as the independent chairman of the International Cricket Council after he was elected unopposed by the governing body’s Board.This will be his second consecutive term as ICC Chairman, having being elected to the post previously in 2016. According to a statement released by the council, Manohar was the sole nominee put forward by the ICC board, thus leading to his unopposed election.As chairman, he spearheaded efforts to restructure the ICC to curb the dominance of cricket’s three wealthiest nations, Australia, India and England.The 60-year-old former head of the Indian board successfully revised the ICC’s governance and pushed for the appointment of its first independent female director.
