Thousands of people paid homage to India’s former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee as his body was taken to his Hindu nationalist party’s headquarters before cremation on the banks of the Yamuna River. Many paid tribute to the three-time prime minister in his home in the morning.Prime Minister Narendra Modi led government leaders in paying tribute to Atal Bihari Vajpayee both at his house and the party headquarters. Vajpayee's adopted daughter Namita Bhattacharya performed the last rites.
