England coach Trevor Bayliss has said that Virat Kohli, who is recovering from a back injury, can be more dangerous in the third Test, which starts on Saturday. Bayliss was asked if he felt Kohli’s back injury was a blessing in disguise for England, 2-0 up and looking forward to winning the third Test and sealing the series. The hosts though are aware the India skipper is one man who can turn things around.
“It could mean he’s more of a dangerous player,” Bayliss said. “Through history there are a lot of players who have played with an injury and scored runs and taken wickets. I don’t know if that focuses the mind more ... but I have just seen him take some slip catches without any problems, so I’m sure he’ll be playing. That won’t change our approach to the way we play him.” Kohli did not take the field on the fourth day of the second Test because of a back injury. However, he batted in the second innings even though he looked in discomfort.
