The Trump administration has announced it will cut all US funding for the main UN programme for Palestinian refugees, a move with potentially devastating impacts for five million people who rely on its schools, healthcare, and social services. The announcement comes days after the US said it was  withdrawing  $200m from its main development agency, USAid, for programmes based largely in Gaza where they help tens of thousands of people. The US, which has been the single-largest donor to the agency for Palestinian refugees, said it wasn't willing to "shoulder the disproportionate share of the burden". The agency currently supports five million Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon.
