COVID-19 cases in Chennai cross 9,000; total cases in Tamil Nadu exceed 14,000

Tamil Nadu reported 786 new coronavirus cases and 4 more fatalities, taking the total number of infections to 14,753 with 98 deaths, the state health department said on Friday. As many as 846 patients were discharged today, taking the total recoveries to 7,128. The total cases in Chennai district rose to 9,364 after it recorded 569 new cases.

Rajasthan recorded 150 new coronavirus cases in last 24 hours, taking the total number of cases there to 6,377, said the state's health department on Friday. The total number of coronavirus patients discharged in Karnataka has reached 597, while 41 people have died of the virus there. Bengaluru Urban remains the worst-hit district in Karnataka with 261 cases and nine deaths.
