Over 400 new COVID-19 cases in Gujarat in last 24 hrs; death toll at 888

Gujarat has recorded over 400 new coronavirus cases in last 24 hours, taking the total number of cases there to above 14,400, said the state's health department on Monday. Gujarat's coronavirus death toll rose to 888, with 30 more dying of the virus in the last 24 hours. A total of 6,636 coronavirus patients have recovered in Gujarat.

The total number of coronavirus cases in Himachal Pradesh has risen to 223, while the number of active cases in the state stands at 151. Lockdown will continue in Hamirpur and Solan districts till June 30, officials announced today. Hamirpur has reported 63 confirmed coronavirus cases, while Solan has reported 20 cases.

The total number of coronavirus cases in Punjab has risen to 2,081, out of which 128 cases are active. A total of 1,913 coronavirus patients have recovered in the state, while the coronavirus death toll in Punjab stands at 40. Amritsar has reported the most number of cases (329) in the state, followed by Jalandhar (220) and Ludhiana (173).

The total number of coronavirus cases in Maharashtra has risen to 52,667 after 2,436 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours. Further, the death toll due to coronavirus has surged to 1,695 in the state after 60 new deaths were reported. A total of 15,786 coronavirus patients have recovered in the state till date.

Rajasthan on Monday reported 272 new coronavirus cases, taking the total number of cases in the state to 7,300, including 167 deaths. A total of 4,056 patients have recovered from COVID-19 in Rajasthan and 3,559 have been discharged from the hospitals, leaving 3,077 active cases. Jaipur is the worst-hit district in the state with 1,828 cases and 79 deaths.

Uttar Pradesh has recorded 273 new coronavirus cases in last 24 hours, said the state's Principal Health Secretary Amit Mohan Prasad. This brings the total number of active coronavirus cases to 2,606. Uttar Pradesh's coronavirus death toll has climbed to 165, said Prasad, adding that 3,581 coronavirus patients have been discharged in the state.

Haryana on Monday reported 29 new coronavirus cases, taking the total number of cases in the state to 1,213 including 16 deaths. A total of 802 patients have recovered from COVID-19 in the state, leaving 395 active cases. Haryana has sent nearly 1 lakh samples for testing and results are awaited for 4,049 samples in the state.

Coronavirus cases in Assam rose to 539 on Monday, after 13 more cases were registered in the latest update at 10:10 pm, tweeted state Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. A total of 62 patients have recovered from COVID-19 in the state while four have died. Three cases have migrated and the number of active cases stands at 470.

Tamil Nadu has recorded 805 new coronavirus cases, taking the total number of cases there to 17,082, said the state's Health Minister C Vijayabaskar on Monday. Tamil Nadu's coronavirus death toll climbed to 118, with seven more dying of the virus in the last 24 hours. Of the new cases, 549 were reported in Chennai alone.

Singapore on Monday reported 344 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours, taking its total COVID-19 cases to 31,960, the country's Health Ministry said. Of the 344 cases, 340 were detected in foreign workers living in dormitories, it added. "The lower number of cases today is partly due to fewer tests being conducted," the ministry further said.

The death toll due to coronavirus in UK has surged to 36,914 after 121 new deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours. The total number of coronavirus cases in the UK has risen to 261,184 after 1,625 more people tested positive in the last 24 hours. A total of 3,532,634 tests have been conducted in the UK so far.
