Lockdown in Bengaluru from 8pm tonight till 5am on Monday; Kolkata bans flights from 6 cities

Bengaluru: Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike Commissioner Anil Kumar on Saturday announced, "Complete lockdown will be imposed from 8pm tonight till 5am on Monday in BBMP limits, as per Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa's instructions in view of COVID-19." He added sale of essential items would be allowed during the lockdown. Police action would be taken against people "found roaming unnecessarily", Kumar stated.

Kolkata bans flights from 6 cities including Delhi and Mumbai from July 6

Kolkata Airport on Saturday said that no flights from six cities shall operate to Kolkata from July 6 to July 19 or till further orders, whichever is earlier. The cities include Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Chennai and Ahmedabad. "The decision was taken on the request of West Bengal Government in view of coronavirus pandemic," Kolkata Airport Director said.
