Diesel becomes cheaper by ₹8.36 per litre in Delhi as govt cuts VAT

NewDelhi: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday announced that Delhi Cabinet has decided to reduce the Value Added Tax (VAT) on diesel from 30% to 16.75%. This will reduce the price of diesel in the city by ₹8.36 per litre from ₹82 to ₹73.64 per litre, he added. Notably, the central excise duty on petrol is at ₹31.83 per litre.
