What is the Common Eligibility Test that will be conducted for govt job seekers?

Union Minister Jitendra Singh said on Wednesday that the Common Eligibility Test (CET) for multiple government jobs will be held twice a year and will be conducted in multiple Indian languages. The exam score will be valid for three years. CET will be an online examination and every district in the country will have at least one exam centre.

The Union Cabinet has approved setting up of the 'National Recruitment Agency' (NRA) that will conduct a Common Eligibility Test for those seeking to apply for government jobs, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar announced on Wednesday. Currently, government job seekers appear for multiple examinations and pay repetitive fees, he added.
