With the win, CSK ended their three-match losing streak and moved to seventh on the points table. The defeat was RCB's first after two consecutive wins and fourth in the tournament. The match witnessed Virat Kohli reach 200 sixes in IPL.

Kohli becomes 1st batsman in IPL history to hit both 200 sixes and 500 fours

During his 43-ball 50-run knock against CSK, RCB captain Virat Kohli became the first-ever batsman in IPL to hit both 200 sixes and 500 fours. Kohli became the third Indian and overall the fifth player to smash 200 IPL sixes. CSK captain MS Dhoni has hit the most IPL sixes among Indians (216), followed by MI captain Rohit Sharma (209).
