Mumbai: Maharashtra Police arrested Arnab Goswami for allegedly abetting the suicide of 53-year-old interior designer Anvay Naik and his mother in 2018. In a suicide note, Anvay alleged Goswami and two others had not paid him ₹5.4 crore, creating serious financial difficulties for him. A re-investigation was ordered after Anvay's daughter Adnya Naik approached state Home Minister Anil Deshmukh in May.
The Mumbai Police on Wednesday entered Republic Media Network's Editor-In-Chief Arnab Goswami's residence and took him away in a police van. Goswami claimed he has been "physically assaulted" by the police. Reports said Goswami was arrested in a 2018 abetment to suicide case. The case has now been reopened after being closed earlier.
