Haryana government on Sunday rolled back its decision for a complete ban on buying and selling of crackers. Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar said people would be allowed to burst crackers for two hours on Diwali, without specifying the dedicated timings. "Traders can sell crackers during these two hours," he added.

Guj DMs, police asked to issue orders restricting firecrackers' use

The Gujarat Home Department on Saturday directed district magistrates and police officials across the state to issue prohibitory orders restricting the use of firecrackers under the Criminal Procedure Code Section 144. The order is in compliance with the state government's 2018 circular that lays down safety measures for controlling pollution due to firecrackers.

Won't ban fire crackers, air quality moderate: Punjab govt tells NGT

Punjab government has decided to allow firecrackers in the state as the air quality there is moderate. In a reply to NGT, the state government said the AQI in non-attainment cities has remained in good to the satisfactory range. The government has stated that it has notified the time limits for bursting of crackers as per the Supreme Court orders.
