Delhi Police on Sunday said that protesting farmers' Republic Day tractor parade will be allowed to enter the city from the three border points of Singhu, Tikri and Ghazipur. The parade will return to the originating points after following a pre-decided route. The "sanctity and security arrangements of Republic Day celebrations" will be maintained, said Special CP (Intelligence), Dependra Pathak.
Delhi Police also said that it has received intelligence inputs regarding threat to create disturbance in the Republic Day tractor rally that will be taken out by the protesting farmers. "[Over 300] Twitter handles have been generated from Pakistan to create confusion," said Delhi Police Special CP (Intelligence), Dependra Pathak. The handles were created from January 13-18, Pathak said.
Maha farmers, top leaders to march against farm laws on Monday
Thousands of farmers in Maharashtra are gathering in Mumbai to protest against the farm laws on Monday. Farmers, under the banner of Samyukta Shetkari Kamgar Morcha (SSKM), will take out a march to Raj Bhavan to show solidarity with the agitating farmers in Delhi. SSKM Convenor Ashok Dhawale said, "Top leaders like Sharad Pawar, Aaditya Thackeray...will join the morcha."
