Mobile internet and SMS services suspended in 17 H'yana districts till 5 pm tomorrow; 9 held for attacking policemen during protest at Burari ground

The Haryana government today suspended mobile internet and SMS services in a total of 17 Haryana districts till 5 pm tomorrow. Apart from Sonipat, Jhajjar and Palwal where the restrictions were already in place, the services have been suspended in Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Kaithal, Panipat, Hisar, Jind, Rohtak, Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, Rewari, Fatehabad and Sirsa.

SHO attacked with sword amid clash at Singhu; seriously injured

Alipur Station House Officer (SHO) Pradeep Paliwal sustained "grievous injuries" on his hand after he was attacked with a sword during clashes between protesting farmers and locals at Singhu border on Friday, police said. Delhi Police shared a picture of Paliwal being attacked by a protester. "Peace has been restored. Legal action is being initiated," said the police.

The Delhi Police on Friday said that as many as nine people were arrested and sent to Tihar Jail in connection with an attack on police personnel during protest at Burari ground on Thursday. "The protesters were raising instigative slogans and were adamant on going to Red Fort. They also tore uniforms of police personnel," the police added.
