
Washington: US President Joe Biden has reversed a ban by ex-President Donald Trump on US funding for abortion counselling provided by international organisations. Biden said the move will "reverse my predecessor's [Trump's] attack on women's health access". The move also includes restoration of US funding to the UN Population Fund, which Trump had ended over its alleged support for forced abortions.

US President Joe Biden has appointed Indian-Americans Sohini Chatterjee and Aditi Gorur to key diplomatic positions at the US Mission to the United Nations. Chatterjee will serve as a senior policy advisor to the mission, while Gorur will serve as a policy advisor. Biden has named at least 20 Indian-Americans to senior positions in his administration.
