Puducherry CM V Narayanasamy and his cabinet colleagues in the union territory resigned on Monday after the government lost the confidence vote in the Assembly. The CM met Lieutenant Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan to tender his resignation. Narayanasamy said he was accompanied by his ministers, Congress and DMK MLAs besides the independent legislator who had earlier supported the government.
V Narayanasamy on Monday said that former Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi and the Union government colluded with opposition to topple his government in the Union Territory. Ahead of the floor test in Puducherry, Narayanasamy also added that the Central government refused to give the Union Territory "full statehood even after the parliamentary committee suggested it."
