NewDelhi: As many as 10,030 people tested positive for coronavirus in Mumbai in the last 24 hours, the BMC informed on Tuesday. With this, the total caseload in the city has increased to 4,72,332, while the total number of fatalities has risen to 11,828 with 31 more deaths. Nearly 48,000 COVID-19 tests were conducted in Mumbai in the last 24 hours.
Delhi on Tuesday recorded over 5,000 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, marking the national capital's biggest daily COVID-19 surge this year. As many as 5,100 new COVID-19 cases were recorded in Delhi on Tuesday while 17 more died of the virus there in the last 24 hours. Delhi's cumulative caseload has now increased to 6,85,062.

Global COVID-19 death toll surpasses 30 lakh-mark
The global death toll from coronavirus crossed the 30 lakh-mark on Tuesday, according to a Reuters tally. It took over a year for the COVID-19 death toll to reach 20 lakh but the next 10 lakh deaths were added in about three months, Reuters reported. Brazil accounts for one in every four COVID-19 deaths worldwide each day, it added.
