Thiruvananthapuram: Onam celebrations of state government employees in Kerala is all set to take a cuff on this time, as they will not be paid 2 months salary like in previous years.
Finance Minister KM Balagopal cited the severe financial crisis faced by state for the situation.
However, the government had too much of struggle to find money to pay Onam Bonus and Salary, he said.
The gravity of the situation must be realized by all state government employees. They should remember that the all care government had given to them during Covid-19 crisis.
Over the past few years, the state government used to pay the salary of the month before the Onam festival in advance.
This year the Onam falls on Aug 21, the employees can only recieve August salary only in September.
