Thiruvananthapuram: Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya will visit Kerala today as the spread of Covid continues in the state. The Union Minister will arrive in the capital at noon.Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will hold discussions regarding Kovid.
The Minister of Health will be accompanied by a team of experts from the Central Government. It is reported that he will visit Thiruvananthapuram Medical College and HLL.
The central team had estimated that the spread of the disease in Kerala was continuing due to the high incidence of critically ill and elderly people.
At the same time, the vaccination drive in the state is progressing efficiently. In the last seven days, 24 lakh people have been vaccinated. Wayanad district has become the first district in the state to be fully vaccinated.
Although there is a slight decrease in the number of cases per day, the increase in the spread of the disease in the state is a cause for concern. Yesterday, the test positivity rate was 15.11 per cent. The TPR rises so much after a break.
