Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa: The Rise gets a new release date. Earlier, the film was set to be a Christmas 2021 release and was supposed to clash with Ranveer Singh starring sports biopic 83. However, the makers have decided to hit Pushpa on the big screens a week before Christmas that is, December 17, 2021. The makers announced the new release date with a new poster teasing the new theatrical release date.

Pushpa features Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead Srivalli, while Fahadh Faasil makes his debut in Telugu movies as the main antagonist. The actor will be seen as Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat IPS.

Both Rashmika and Fahadh's first look was unveiled in the past few weeks and went instantly viral on the Internet.

For her role in Pushpa, Rashmika learnt a new Telugu dialect, which she confirmed during an Instagram live session. While Fahadh sports a completely bald look in the movie which grabbed eyeballs on the social media pages. 

Pushpa is written and directed by Sukumar, while Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar have produced the film. The film will release in two parts and is set against the backdrop of the red sanders smuggling in the Seshachalam Hills of the Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh.

Pushpa is extensively shot in many locales of South India including Kerala and Andhra Pradesh. The film has been shot in Telugu, while the dubbed versions will release in Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada and Hindi languages. Meanwhile, the makers are yet to announce when the second instalment will hit the big screens.
