Thiruvananthapuram: Bineesh Kodiyeri, who was granted bail in the money laundering case, arrived at his home in Thiruvananthapuram. He was lodged at the Parappana Agrahara central prison since November 11, 2020 and was released from there by 8 on Saturday night. Bineesh reacted to the media saying that the case was a result of his unwillingness to give in to threats. He also added that he has many things to explain.
Bineesh said he was eager to see his family first. He also informed that he will comment more on other things later.
Both family and friends were awaiting his return at his residence. His mother Vinodini, broke into tears upon seeing him and held him in a tight embrace. His father, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, said he was happy to see his son after a long time.
The Karnataka High Court granted bail to Bineesh Kodiyeri in the money laundering case on Thursday. He obtained bail a year after getting arrested in the case. Earlier, the Bengaluru special court had dismissed Bineesh's bail plea twice. Following this, he approached the High Court in April this year citing the health issues of his father Kodiyeri Balakrishnan.
The Enforcement Directorate arrested Bineesh over charges of money laundering on October 29, 2020. He allegedly provided money to the Bengaluru drug case accused Muhammad Anoop. He was in Parappana Agrahara central prison since November 11.
