Night Life in Trivandrum

A month ago, Trivandrum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI) had recommended night-time shopping at a seminar which was organized in association with the Centre for Public Policy Research (CPPR).  Even though the capital district of the state stands at the forefront on many a topic and discussion matter, it still remains said that the one thing that hasn’t changed is the unspoken curfew followed by most commercial enterprises that shut their stores at 9pm. If you are a resident of the city you would know that after 10 there are very few places where you can see people and most of them are food stalls or restaurants. The ‘night life’ that one can experience in cities such as Bangalore, Mumbai etc are not possible in the southern tip as of now. The emerging malls namely Lulu, Travancore and Malabar will bring a bit more flare to the city. Trivandrum already hosts the largest I.T Park in Asia and the I.T professionals would be raring to find time after their hectic schedule to let loose and relax.  The factor of safety would ofcourse come into question but the local authorities when asked about the topic have given their thumbs up saying that their forces are more than capable to handle it and were only skeptical if the citizens of the early slumbering city will bother to come out at night.
