Thiruvananthapuram: "We will raise him as a good human," said Anupama S Chandran after reaching home with her child, whose custody was granted to her by a Family Court in Vanchiyoor here on Wednesday.
"We don't want to give him a luxurious life," added the mother, who was finally reunited with her baby separated at birth allegedly by her parents, who were unwilling to accept her relationship with Ajith, the child's father.
However, Anupama said that she intends to continue her protest -- in a new form -- "until action is taken against those who did the injustice".
She thanked the "countless good people" who stood beside her. She also thanked the Andhra couple, who had bid a tearful goodbye to the child, whom they had adopted without knowing that its parents were looking for him.
"I cannot thank them enough. I can only promise them that I'll look after him well," said Anupama.Earlier, the Family Court, which was considering the case regarding the irregularities in the adoption proceedings of Anupama's child had instructed the CWC to produce the child from Nirmala Shishu Bhavan. The child was handed over to Anupama after a doctor conducted a physical checkup on the infant.
