Gujarat : After GST roll out on July 1 , a shocking incident came to light in Gujarat Queen Train where aTTE asked the passengers to pay Rs. 20 claiming that the fare has been revised due to the Launch of GST. The passengers denied to pay the amount while asked him to present fare revision circular. The passengers also asked for the receipt.
As per the media reports, GST will impact Railway fares, but the Ministry has already clarified its stand that the tickets booked before July 1 won't bear the GST burden. According to the reports, the travel in second classs coaches of suburban and outstation trains is likely to cost the same to the passengers even after the GST rollout.
The much awaited Goods and Service Tax (GST) was rolled out on July1 by President Pranab Mukherjee in the presence of Prime MInister Narendra Modi, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and others on June30 midnight at an event in Parliament in New Delhi.
